Nigeria League – Olusoji respects the qualities of Vandrezzer FC

FC Nilayo head coach, Sunday Olusoji has praised greatly the qualities of the Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Vandrezzer FC, after the Abeokuta outfit fell 0-1 to the Lagos side in Saturday’s NNL Southern Conference B1 matchday 2 clash at the Agege Stadium, Lagos.

Olusoji said his side had planned to walk away with at least a point in the encounter but were thwarted by quality opponents, in Vandrezzer FC

“We respect Vandrezzer FC the way they respect us but they are very good side no doubt about it.

“Honestly, I tell you if they were not good side we would have beaten them with at least three unreplied goals.

“Normally as a human being nobody will be happy winning his first match and with high expectation of getting at least a point here but since the game went that way, it did on a losing note, we did not kill anybody, nobody died. We will go back home to work hard for the next match,” said Olusoji.

Olusoji said the referee had his best answer to the early penalty awarded against them but insisted that the South West derby lived up to derbies anywhere in the world.

“Well the early penalty actually came as a result of the referee faulting our goalkeeper and that is the referee’s decision.

“We had our own too and we lost it, whom do we blame for the loss, we will only go back home to work harder for the next match.

“Of course, the derby lived up to its billing, you can see the tempo, it’s very high tempo game from start to finish,” said the FC Nilayo gaffer.

The loss to Vandrezzer FC left the Abeokuta side on three points from possible six in the two-week old Nigeria’s second tier league.
