SSC Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has absolved Nigerian doctors of blame following reports to the contrary in some sections of the Nigerian media.
Italian media outlet Tuttosport reported on Saturday that Napoli medics had claimed that Nigerian doctors did more damage to Osimhen’s shoulder while trying to put it back into place during Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone in Benin on November 13.
Osimhen has now revealed that Tuttosport’s report on the situation is inaccurate.
“Not true tho,” he wrote on twitter followed by a ‘wrong’ emoji while replying to a quoted tweet from Tuttosport’s Twitter account reporting the issue.
Medical staff from the Nigeria squad tried to pop it back into place on the field, then he returned to Italy for tests and a specialist consultation.
Tuttosport claim that the shoulder dislocation has fully recovered, but Osimhen still can’t lift his arm properly. This is allegedly because the incorrect technique used by the Nigerian doctors inflamed a tendon in his shoulder.
It would add even more to his recovery time and further irritate Napoli, who are missing their star striker during a key part of the season.
