Kwara United attacking midfielder, Stephen Adah has said his colleagues are greatly missing the top-flight action during the ongoing inactive period.
The Nigerian league and other sporting activities are 100% on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Adah said Nigerian league players are fervently praying ceaselessly for the health crisis to come to an end quickly so that the suspended leagues will resume in earnest.
“It has not been easy going through this period of inactivity due to the coronavirus health crisis.
“Truly, we are missing the round leather game, the teeming fans and other personnel of the beautiful game.
“We want to return to the pitch as quickly as possible to continue doing what we know how best to do it,” said the former Enugu Rangers man.
Adah said he keeps fit daily with the little training equipment within and around his personal reach.
“I do minor fitness exercise and training on my own as well as use some programmes on my phone to update my training routine.
“I have little equipment too in my house to assist and help me in my daily training exercise.
“Again these minor trainings cannot substitute the normal training exercise and active competitive games prior to the coronavirus scourge, we are praying for normalcy to return in the land so that we can resume our normal lives,” said the former Akwa United player.
Adah is however optimistic that his side will definitely survive relegation in the 20-team top-flight.
“Well, the league campaign is still on and never over until it is practically seen to be over so we will continue to fight for our lives till the end.
“I have confidence that Kwara United will not go down on relegation despite our poor placement on the log at the moment.
“We have been able to discover our undoing that affected us badly, we are seriously working on those hindrances.
“There are positives coming from that direction, I know for sure that together and united we will pull the team out of the wool, Kwara United will remain the premiership,” said the former FC Ifeanyiubah lethal finisher.
Kwara United are 19th on the 20-team top-flight log on 28 points 21 behind league leaders, Plateau United.
