Xavi recovers from coronavirus

Xavi Hernandez has recovered from the coronavirus since news first broke of the FC Barcelona legend’s positive test. He has now resumed his duties as head coach of Qatari club, Al Sadd.

The 40-year-old former Spain international confirmed at the weekend that he had tested positive for COVID-19 and spent time away from his Qatari club. He thus missed out coaching the team in their Stars League clash with Al Khor on July 25 but has since made a full recovery and took to his Instagram page to announce the news.

Xavi, who has frequently been linked to a Camp Nou return as potential successor to head coach Quique Setien, posted pictures of himself back at work and at home with his children.

In a post published on Wednesday (July 29), Xavi thanked followers for the “caring messages” posted since he announced he had coronavirus.
“Thank you so much for all the caring messages that I’ve received during these days,” he wrote on his verified Instagram page alongside an image of him holding his daughter.
“I want to share with you that I’m recovered and back home with my family and the Al-Sadd team.”
