Italian football legend Maurizio Zamparini has spoken about the need for Paulo Dybala to leave Italian club Juventus and join Spanish giants, Real Madrid. Zamparini insists that only such a move will guarantee Dybala a chance to fulfil his great potential as one of the finest footballers in the world.
The 79-year-old Zamparini was President of Italian club, Palermo for 15 years until 2017 and Dybalaba played for the I Rosanero for three seasons during that period.
“I am still convinced that Dybala is the new Messi,” Zamparini said. “He should have followed my advice three years ago.
“I told him: ‘Paulo, for your own sake, you must leave Juventus.’
“His football is fantasy (and best suited to) Spain,” he added.
Dybala netted a season-high 25 goals in all competitions in the 2017/18 season for Juve but could only manage five Serie A goals the next season. The Argentinean scored 11 league goals in the 2019/20 season and has yet to score in Serie A this term after three appearances for La Vecchia Signora.
Zamparini believes Dybala’s career will receive a shot in the arm if he decides to move to Spain to team up with Los Blancos.
“The advice I give him today is the same: ‘Paulo go to Ream Madrid’. Maybe as early as January”.
“It will be a deal (that is good) for him and Juventus, who already tried to sell him.
“Paulo is a champion and not a deputy.”
