Abdallah looking forward to Rivers United test

The side no one wants to face in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) at this moment is Rivers United.
United have been peerless this season, winning all three games they have played this season, scoring five goals and conceding none.
Fittingly, the Port Harcourt club are top of the NPFL standings and will retain their position at the summit of the standings if they defeat the Tourists at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi on Wednesday.
Head coach of Wikki, Usman Abdallah knows the test against the leaders will be a stern one but he is nonetheless looking forward to the task at hand.
“They are the leaders so you know what to expect when you face that kind of team,” Abdallah told SPNAfricaNews. “We know it will not be an easy match but the objective is to try to get three points from that game.
“The next three games will be very difficult for us. First, we go to Bauchi (from Aba where they lost 0-1 to Enyimba on Sunday) to face Rivers United and then we go back to the South to face Akwa United before returning up North to face Jagawa Stars.
“It will not be an easy moment as these three games will be played in a space of a week or so from the Enyimba game.”
Abdallah then took the time to discuss the defeat to Enyimba in Aba on Sunday.
“Considering the goal they scored it was painful to concede that kind of cheap goal but all the same the players did well,” he said.  “The tactical approach was ok. It was a lot of young and vibrant players against an experienced team like Enyimba.
“Football is not about dominating the game, it’s about winning and we lost but the boys lost with their heads held high.
“I’m impressed with the boys and it’s just the beginning of the league with just three matches played and we only have one point but we’ll still bounce back.”
Abdallah concluded by discussing the aspirations of the side for the rest of the season.
“Really it doesn’t show that we are doing well because it’s about winning.  “It’s not about what you play but when you look at the team, you will have confidence and know that there is hope.
“With these three games, we’ve learnt a lot and we are going back to work on ourselves. There is still an opportunity for us to see that there are still about 35 matches remaining.”
