Real Sociedad’s former Spain and Manchester City midfielder David Silva has tested positive for the coronavirus.
Silva, who is not displaying any symptoms, is currently in self-isolation after joining Real Sociedad this month following an illustrious career at Manchester City where he won 14 trophies and appeared 436 times in their colours.
The 34-year-old Spaniard previously played for Valencia and was one of Spain’s golden generation, winning the European Championship back to back in 2008 and 2012 as well as their crowning achievement, the South Africa 2010 Fifa World Cup.
The Spanish side confirmed the news on the same day the playmaker was revealed in his new club’s colours at Sociedad’s Anoeta Stadium.
