Tunisian club, Etiole du Sahel were thrown into the group of death as the draw for the group stage of the CAF Champions League took centre stage in Cairo, Egypt on Friday (January 8).
2007 winners, Etiole will face five-time champions, Zamalek, 1976 victors Mouloudia Club d’Alger (MC Alger) and plucky Senegalese side, Teungueth FC, in group D.
Group A is comprised of nine-time winners and reigning champions Al Ahly of Egypt, AS Vita Club, Simba FC and Al Merrikh from Sudan.
Group B looks evenly poised with TP Mazembe, Mamelodi Sundowns, Al Hilal and CR Belouizdad set to battle for two available quarter-final slots.
In Group C, Wydad Athletic club will be heavy favorites to progress to the quarter-finals while the other three clubs in the section include Petro Athletico, Kaizer Chiefs and Horoya Club.
