Rohr names Nigeria squad for AFCON qualifiers vs Benin, Lesotho

Head coach of Nigeria’s national team, Gernot Rohr, has called up 24 players ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Benin Republic and Lesotho.

Enyimba International goalkeeper, John Noble has been called up following his sparkling displays for the Aba club in the Nigeria Professional Football League and the CAF Confederation Cup.

Nigeria currently tops Group E of AFCON qualifying with eight points from two matches (one ahead of Benin Republic and five more than third-placed Sierra Leone).

The Super Eagles will face Benin’s Squirrels at the Stade Charles de Gaulle in Porto Novo on March 27 and before rounding up their qualifying campaign against the Crocodiles of Lesotho at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos three days later.
